Baby, It's Cold Outside!

We had so much fun in Layton this weekend! We left Overton at about 4:30 Friday morning and drove up to Bryan and Stephanie's to spend time w/ their family. We had planned to go to SLC to see the lights at Temple Sqare, but the weather kind of put the kabosh on that. It started snowing Friday night and just kind of kept going. Saturday Carson and Makayla decided they wanted to go play in the snow, and I just couldn't keep Joshy in for his very first snow, so we bundled him up and sent him out. Then I decided that I wanted to go out too, so I bundled Bryan up and we went out to play with everyone else. It was so much fun! Joshy was freezing, but he was not at all interested in going in. He and Canon followed each other around and played for about an hour. That night we went out to eat and then went to Layton Park to see the Christmas lights. It was so cute. They had all sorts of fun lights, frogs jumping into a pond, dinosaurs, butterflies, dragon flies, Little Mermaid, all sorts of fun things. We then went back to Bryan and Steph's to watch a couple of movies. It was a really fun night. Sunday was when we really woke up to the snow. The car was completely covered. Poor Mike went out to scrape it off so that when Bryan plowed the drive way we could get out. It was fun to watch, but I was glad that I was inside. After a ton of discussion, we decided that it was better to stay up there on Sunday and drive home on Monday. Ummm. . . let's just stay that may not have been the best decision. Monday morning up north was ok, but once we hit Cedar the snow start coming down. At one point, I was sure that we were going to skid off the road. The semi in front of us almost did! We were pretty surprised to find snow on the ground in St. George and then again on the mesa about 20 miles from home. We were welcomed home by a ton of rain (which we love.) We had such a good time at Bryan and Steph's! Thanks guys so much for letting us come up and visit! Thanks to Carson and Makayla for giving up their rooms and sleeping on the floor! We love you all and can't wait to come see you again!
